A V7 Think Tank Report www.v7europe.com V7 Intelligence Report (London Unit) Written by Dominic Whiteman
Using the LTTE as a case study to show that UK banning legislation is an appalling failure in its current format. Background: The Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) was banned in the UK on February 28th 2001. The annual publication of the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) London "Military Balance 2005/2006" referred to emerging links between the LTTE and the Al-Qaeda movement. It was later revealed confidentially by the editors to diplomatic sources that these links were in terms of commercial transactions including trafficking for financial gain and acquisition of technology rather than any ideological linkage. Experts are studying with interest links between the LTTE and Al-Qaeda in its financial, commercial and arms dealings. It is also believed that such links also exist in maritime transactions. |

A V7 Think Tank Report www.v7europe.com A V7 Intelligence Report Written by Adrian Morgan June 2008 Indonesia is widely described as a "moderate" Islamic nation. In many ways this has been true. Here, I will try to explain the background of this conflict, whose causes belong as much to politics as they do to religion. |

A V7 Think Tank Report www.v7europe.com V7 Intelligence Report Written by Adrian Morgan July 2008 This month, the annual British event known as "Islam Expo" came to a close. V7 is a 21st Century independent think tank wholly comprised of investigators. The Group's trustees contract out report writing to external expert writers so the focus of the V7 team can remain non-stop investigation.
V7 is financed by private donations and receives no government funding. The think tank describes itself as "classical liberal" and "non-partisan" and aims to promote social cohesion in the West. Its secular team is comprised of many faiths.
V7 focuses on the areas of counter extremism, crime, policing and counter-terrorism. Since launch, V7's results have been remarkable - either working alongside existing think tanks or standing alone.
V7 employs over 30 investigators across 4 continents and is a rapidly growing phenomenon with little to no competition in its space. |
